Potential narratives

Narrative 1

  1. A young boy is pictured ending communications with a girl. This will take place within a greyish location with dull colours. Seen walking away from each other. This will be a short sequence of shots (5 secs) but will establish the video.
  1. The music begins and the mood of the whole video changes. The boy is seen going on holiday to a party island with a few friends. With an initial shot at the airport and the boy is seen travelling abroad. A montage of shots resumes with a relatively quick cutting rate and bright colours.
  1. The boy is seen partying in a foreign location. The use of location will be important, picturing coastal areas, cars and sunsets in a form of montage to increase the overall excitement. Through the use of camerawork I will represent thoughts and memories of the male character thinking of the female character initially distinguished and adds to why he may have negatives thoughts about her.
The sense of narrative will be vague but this will meet conventions of the genre.
  1. The video ends with the boy heading home. This adds a sense of equilibrium as the relationship issues of the boy have been solved.

Narrative 2

  1. The video is set in England with a homosexual female couple seen.
  1. The have recently broken up but constantly see each other around and their local area
  1. There is a conflict of emotion where both characters hate each other but at the same time have some kind of emotion towards each other. This will be exaggerated by the camera work using some close ups and movement of camera will create some sense of disorientation.
  1. The narrative will be as the characters slowly become more attached to each other but eventually cannot find it within them to reunite due to the emotions they have already been through.

Narrative 3

  1. The video is based within a studio.
  1. A female character is seen lip syncing the song. She appears to be thinking of a male character with some images or potential past recollections of their experiences.
  1. The use of bright lights and strobe will add excitement to the video and should invoke potential emotions of partying juxtaposed with spiteful feelings.
